Joselyn Angeles-Figueroa is a research analyst in the youth development program area. She is passionate about working alongside communities to ensure they have access to high-quality public and social services. Her research interests include educational equity, racial and ethnic equity, out-of-school time activities, juvenile justice, and ethnic identity construction. Currently, Joselyn provides expert technical assistance in constructing equity-centered implementation and research projects. She also supports the development of a toolkit to integrate positive youth development approaches into the juvenile justice system. Joselyn is skilled in providing operations and project management support, qualitative data and analysis, and synthesizing findings for dissemination.

Prior to her time at Child Trends, she worked as a research assistant for Macalester’s Institutional Research department where she collaborated across institutional offices to conduct and disseminate multiple studies on student health, academic concerns during COVID-19, and alumni outcomes. Aside from this work, Joselyn has also served on research projects evaluating youth entrepreneurship programs and Minnesota’s English language learners program. Her senior thesis involved working with Latin American community organizations in Central Florida to determine the ways in which their members exert agency in the process of their ethnic identity construction.
